Leybourne Castle
📍 Kent, England
About
Leybourne Castle is a 13th-century castle in the parish of Leybourne, Kent, west of Castle Way.
A 13th-century enclosure castle built by the Leybourne family. The twin-towered gatehouse dating from 1275 is the most significant surviving element, its semicircular bastions incorporated into a Tudor farmhouse that was extensively rebuilt around 1930. The castle ruins are Grade II* listed and a Scheduled Monument. The surrounding earthworks preserve the original castle layout.
