About

Stoneleigh Abbey is an English country house and estate. It is situated in Warwickshire, England, near to the villange of Stoneleigh, Warwickshire and about three miles to the southeast of the city of Coventry. The Abbey is a Grade I listed building and the grounds are Grade II* listed.

Founded as a Cistercian monastery in 1154, converted to a grand family home after the Dissolution. The Leigh family held it for centuries, hosting Charles I and Queen Victoria. Jane Austen visited in 1806 and wove descriptions of the interiors and grounds into Mansfield Park. Gardens improved by Humphry Repton. Features a magnificent Baroque west wing added in the 1720s.
